Who we are

Jayasom, a place for the heart

Jayasom is a word name in two parts

‘Jay’ is heart. And ‘Asom’ from the same Sanskrit origin, refers to a sacred or peaceful learning place. Together, a place for the heart.

Your time at Jayasom will come as a pause, a gentle intermission in your everyday life, empowering you to reclaim the best in you.

Jayasom AMAALA, on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast, is where that aspiration comes to life.

Welcome to JAYASOM - a place for your heart.

Origins

In the words of our founder

Jayasom was founded in 2014 to restore the traditional wisdom of wellness back into the life many of us live today.

“I was brought up in a family where healthy living was just the natural course of events. We grew fruit and vegetables and nurtured sheep and bees. We preserved, conserved and we recycled.

And now, 50-some years later. I ask myself how we arrived at this point in the world – where we travel too much, live life too busily, constantly consume and dispose and where balance and the natural peace have been squeezed into a neglected corner. Where climate change is political and water levels threaten low-lying communities, and how is it even possible that this is new news for policy makers?

While we may not be able to change everything, we can at least reclaim our conscious awareness. We can calm our minds, release the pressure in our bodies and reconnect with the wisdom that perhaps has been forgotten over time. How to breathe. How to be still. How to eat better and appreciate where our food comes from. To be mindful and to make conscious choices.

Jayasom was created to re-connect people with the wisdom of wellness. We draw upon the ancient healing traditions of generations past and the know-how of today to share as a waypoint, or possibly a turning point, in life’s journey.”

What we stand for

Wellness Wisdom®

Traditional wisdom — the things your grandmother knew, and her grandmother before her. Herbal remedies, intuitive rituals, practical habits; foods that nourished, practices that restored, and rhythms of living that helped people stay well long before ‘wellness’ became an industry.

Jayasom was created to reconnect people with the wisdom of wellness. We draw upon ancient healing traditions and combine them with the knowledge and understanding of today.

Wearables, apps, diagnostics, AI — technology has its place. Not to replace human wisdom, but to support it. At Jayasom, we believe the future of genuine and sustaining wellness lies in marrying science with the timeless practices that continue to ground and guide us.

Sustainability pledge

Personal and planetary health are deeply connected. At Jayasom, sustainability shapes how we build, source, and live alongside local communities. We spend time with traditional healers and herbalists, learning from knowledge passed through generations. Some of this learning appears in the menus and daily rhythms of the property, where Traditional Arabic Medicine sits alongside contemporary wellness science.

This same thinking guides the property itself. Renewable energy, water conservation, LEED-certified design, and the MOSO Hub support an ongoing practice of measuring and refining sustainability efforts. Kitchens source regionally where possible, water is bottled on property, and buildings are site around breeze, shade, and climate. Small acts, repeated consistently, shape a more responsible way of living.

Pillar three

Wellness starts Within

Wellness at Jayasom begins with our own people. Team culture, operations, back-of-house spaces, accommodation, dining, and training are all designed to support a healthier and more sustainable ways of living. We believe the most meaningful wellness experiences are created by people who feel balanced, supported, and connected themselves.

From nourishing meals and restorative spaces to continuous learning and wellbeing practices, wellness becomes part of everyday life. This helps us attract and retain people who genuinely embody the values they share with guests—bringing authenticity, care, and heartfelt hospitality to every interaction.

Where we are

AMAALA, on Saudi Arabia's
Red Sea coast

Jayasom sits at AMAALA on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast, within the Triple Bay area. The northern end of AMAALA holds a lively Marina Village; a linear walking route leads south to a more secluded wellness core where Jayasom comes to life, at the edge of the sea and facing a serene cove. Location matters. The light, the salt air, the temperature swing between day and (shore-delete)evening, each plays a part in how the body settles. The team has spent time learning from local healers whose practice shows up in the menus and in the daily rhythm of the property. The property is built around two named parts: Jayana for adults, Jayela for family. Discreet by design. Jayasom sits one hour by car from Al Wajh Domestic Airport (EJH). Red Sea International (RSI) is 2 hours away, while Neom Bay Airport (NUM) is 2.5 hours away.
