A Wellness Advisor walks the brief through with you before you arrive.

JSAMS_Lifestyle_AsAFeather_WhatTheFox-0299

Methodology

The Pure Lightness Methodology

The As a Feather retreat is shaped around the work the body is asking for. For some guests, that work is shedding the weight of habits that have settled in over years. For others, it is restoring digestive function after a period of strain, or finding the metabolic baseline that earlier life kept easy and that sedentary work has slowly clouded. Either entry point fits the As a Feather frame; the Wellness Advisor sets the programme around the guest's stated direction at the pre-arrival conversation.

DESIGNED TO DETOXIFY AND ACHIEVE OPTIMAL WEIGHT

  • Digestive health is supported by an anti-inflammatory nutrition plan that promotes cleansing.
  • Metabolism is strengthened to sustain weight balance.

Target. Individuals seeking holistic health improvement through weight management and detoxification. Mostly sedentary jobs looking to change inadequate habits. Those who seek advice on nutrition and weight loss, revitalize their metabolism.

Goals. Achieve a healthy weight by counteracting any metabolic imbalances. Undergo cleansing and detoxification by correcting inadequate habits, promoting physical activity and following a customised diet plan.

The structure is light enough to follow you. Where the assessment surfaces a deeper concern, a Visiting Practitioner in residence may carry the relevant work for the stay. Where the body asks for less than the calendar offers, the day eases back to meet it.

Daily rhythm

Your Days at Feather

The first conversation lasts about an hour. Your Wellness Advisor sits with you in the consultation suite; the pre-arrival questionnaire is already read. Most people who arrive for As a Feather arrive knowing what they want to address. A typical day begins gently. Pranayama, Tai Chi, or Yin Yoga at seven. The eleven o'clock Stretch holds across every day. Lunch lands by one - lighter than dinner, served from the Gut Healing menu.

The setting

The Setting at AMAALA

The buildings step back where the coast asks them to and stay low against the line of the sea. Sea breeze handles the cooling load before any mechanical system gets involved. Materials are local wherever the climate allows.

For As a Feather guests, the relevant zone is Jayana, the adults retreat area at the southern end of Triple Bay. Two Jayana-side gardens sit closest to the lightness-and-clearance register of the retreat.

The Yasmeen Night Garden takes its name from the jasmine that opens only after dark. Its fragrance lands lightly on the path at dusk; the air softens around it, suited to the slower pacing of a detox week. The garden sits at the foot of the Wellness Plateau and is reached through a moon gate, where reclining loungers angle towards the night sky and the path of the moon.

The Stonecrop Maze sits on the plateau above. The maze, sometimes referred to as a labyrinth for what it offers in function, invites slow walking with attention on breath and on each step the foot makes; the centre marks a moment of reflection. Stonecrop is a succulent that grows on rocks and stores water; the plant associates with peace, perseverance, and calmness. For Feather guests, the slow-walking pace of the maze pairs naturally with the quieter intensity of the cleansing rhythm.

Phoenix Garden sits near Saratô on the Jayana side and is open to all guests. Family-side gardens (the Colour Garden chakra journey and the Poa Garden Theatre amphitheatre) sit on the Jayela side and are also accessible to any guest.

The standard accommodation is set up around your stated preferences: aroma options of Calming Lavender or Spirited Rosemary, your pillow chosen from the seven on the menu, and Coco-mat® bedding throughout. Where the assessment surfaces a preference, different bedding tier, additional pillow, room-temperature variation, the Wellness Advisor adjusts before arrival. The room itself sits low against the coastline; the sea is visible from the bed; the path to the gardens is short.

Sixty villas plus twenty-four private residences hold the property. Phase one is a small property by destination-resort scale, and the design is for it to stay that way; the daily wellness rhythm is sized to the cohort, not to the building.

Per-tier treatment counts

Holistic treatments by tier: 6 across four nights (Explore), 9 across seven (Absorb), 11 across ten (Immerse), 15 across fourteen (Commit). As a Feather has the highest detox-treatment count and the lightest motion-session count of our six retreats. The Wellness Advisor shapes the balance against your assessment.

FOR LIGHTNESS

Sessions and rituals shaped for lightness

Across the As is Feather protocol, several treatments and sessions are placed where the precise asks for slower pace and lower load. The list below sits alongside the daily 60-minute treatment menu and the wellness classes; it adds depth at the moments where the cleansing rhythm asks for steadier attention.

ALL TIERS, RETURNING ACROSS LONGER STAYS

Nutritional Consultation

60 MINUTES

Pranayama, Tai Chi, Yin Yoga, and Super Stretch sessions are paced to a sedentary-adjacent starting point. Four-night stays anchor on Pranayama and one Tai Chi session. Longer stays add Yin Yoga and the Super Stretch, building a movement foundation that is sustainable rather than punishing.

3 NIGHTS AND LONGER

Cooking class with the Nakeeha Studio chef

60 MINUTES

Nutritional Consultation (60 min, all tiers, returning across longer stays). The Wellness Advisor and the in-house nutrition specialist read the assessment, the food preferences, and any digestive history shared in the pre-arrival questionnaire. The nourishment approach is calibrated from this session.

ACROSS THE STAY

Lighter movement series

TIER-PROGRESSIVE

Cooking class with the Nakeha chef is a hands-on session at Nakeha Studio. The kitchen's research on which foods support digestive clearance, which support metabolic balance, and which undermine both - applied to your own cooking.

At the table

Wellness Through Nutrition

The kitchen's healing-menu research anchors on Gut Healing and Cleansing for As a Feather guests. The work is to restore digestive function, reduce inflammation, and give the gut what it needs to clear. The Nutritional Consultation on day one calibrates the specific approach; the menu adjusts through the week as the body responds.

After departure

Beyond the Stay

On the closing morning your Wellness Advisor writes up a one-page brief: which two cleansing practices carry forward, the kitchen substitutions that suit the next quarter, and the cadence to hold them to. For As a Feather guests, continuity often centres on the nourishment approach calibrated during the stay, a small set of digestive and metabolic protocols, and the lighter movement practice that fits the home environment. The work does not end at checkout.

In residence

Practitioners in Residence

Visiting Practitioners arrive at Jayasom in residence, for weeks at a time, through the year. Each is chosen for the depth of practice they carry. What they teach the team during their residency continues in the work after they leave.

Through any As a Feather stay, the practitioners in residence are surfaced in the consultation. Where one of them aligns with what the assessment reveals, the relevant work moves to them for that stay. Detox-paired treatments often book around the practitioner's residency week.

The roster rotates through the year and varies by season. Disciplines drawn on for As a Feather include detox clinical practice, nutritional medicine, and gut-health teaching, among others depending on the cohort in residence.

The Wellness Advisor flags fits at the consultation. Where one of the practitioners aligns with what the assessment surfaces, their work layers into the daily rhythm of the property and deepens the brief; otherwise the daily team holds the work.

Day by day

A typical seven-night stay

The body is asking for less weight to carry. Take that as the brief. Days are paced around the cleansing rhythm rather than a fixed grid, so the structure flexes where it needs to.

Day 1

Arrival and the Brief

Afternoon arrival. The villa is set when you walk in: pillow choice already on the bed from the seven on the menu, your scent profile selected from the booking form (Calming Lavender or Spirited Rosemary), the Coco-mat™ mattress. Power juice, water, fruit, and a small spread of nutrient-dense bites on the table.

Your Wellness Advisor comes by not long after. The questionnaire you sent in is already read. The conversation is more practical than you'd expect. Where the body is today. What the dietary history has been. What you want the next phase to look like, and what the kitchen needs to know going in. From that, the programme starts at your first treatment slot tomorrow.

Dinner runs slow at Saratô. The kitchen reaches first for the Farm Belt and works from a nutrient-dense, whole-food line. Pranayama or Singing Bowl Meditation is on offer earlier; Better Sleep Class sits later. None of it is required tonight.

Day 2

Finding the Day's Rhythm

The studio opens at seven. Pranayama, Tai Chi, Yin, or Morning Yoga Flow, depending on the day. The early hour is quiet. Most guests come anyway, the morning class lands lighter than expected.

The eleven o'clock Stretch holds. Twenty to forty minutes on the mat, breath-led, sized to whatever the afternoon's going to ask for. Lunch at Saratô usually follows what the Farm Belt picked that morning.

The Bespoke Nutritional Specialist Consultation comes in the afternoon. Fifty minutes mapping the kitchen against where the body is now, calibrated to your starting point. From there, the meal plan tightens; restrictions lift or land based on the assessment. Far Infrared Therapy follows for some guests, depending on the assessment.

By six, things settle. The pace slows tonight. Most guests close out the night early. Day 2 is calibration. The work tomorrow is real.

Day 3

First Clearance

Mineral water. Herbal heat. Time spent on the table without anywhere else to be; the room feels softer afterwards.

Day 4

Active Lightness

The morning is softer still. Yin, Tai Chi, or Pranayama at seven. The floor work eases off after yesterday.

The eleven o'clock Stretch is in. Ten o'clock aqua fits well today: light Pool Noodle or Hand Buoy work in the cool of the mineral pool. Off the studio floor, the body works without weight.

Taoist Abdominal Massage comes in for Immerse and Commit guests in the afternoon. Chi Nei Tsang lineage work, paced and unhurried. You feel the difference more the next morning than during.

In the evening, the Nakeha Studio cooking class runs for Absorb stays and longer. The chef takes what the Farm Belt brought in that morning and works it into the lesson, anchored to the meal plan from Day 2's Nutrition Consultation. Dinner is what you cooked, served at Saratô.

Day 5

Deeper Clearance

The seven o'clock class today is dynamic but contained; Pilates or Tai Chi depending on the day. Eleven o'clock Stretch preps you for what the afternoon will ask.

Udvarthanam fills the late morning. Fifty minutes, herbal-powder body massage; promotes circulation, supports lymphatic clearance, leaves the skin warm and lifted. The work links cleanly back to Day 3's first clearance, on purpose.

For Immerse and Commit guests, a second Far Infrared Therapy session follows in the afternoon. The mechanics are in the Featured Treatments section above; what matters here is the timing. By day five the body holds heat differently.

The hydrothermal circuit takes the wind-down. Infrared sauna into waterfall bathing into Kneipp walking, then vitality pools, steam, Rasul, the flotation pool. The order is yours.

Saratô takes dinner tonight, or Jiraka for a change (beef-free, spice-route). The kitchen keeps gluten, refined sugars, salt, and coffee low across the board, with anti-inflammatory ingredients leading the line. Better Sleep Class is on offer at eight.

Day 6

Restoration

Day six is the deload. The clearance work from earlier in the week settles in here, and you don't push against it. Morning class is gentle again: Yin, Tai Chi, or Pranayama. The eleven o'clock Stretch holds, as ever.

The afternoon is where Commit stays open up. Pinda Sweda comes in: Ayurvedic herbal-compress massage. The compress holds heat against the body for longer than expected; the muscles soften, fluid moves. It belongs on day six because the body is asking for it now, not earlier.

Immerse stays pair a second hydrothermal block with a longer Stretch. Absorb stays draw the day's treatment from the seven-treatment menu (Jayasom Signature, Balinese, Deep Tissue, Classical Swedish, Chakra Balancing, Foot Reflexology, Abhyanga), take the circuit through the afternoon, and close the day light.

The six o'clock slot offers Floating Meditation or Aerial Yoga. The pace slows tonight, dinner runs longer than the others. By eight, most guests are in the villa or somewhere quiet in the Yasmeen Night Garden.

Day 7

Walking Out Lighter

The day moves loose. The seven o'clock class is there if you want it; most guests skip it and walk along the cove instead.

Breakfast at Saratô. The eleven o'clock Stretch still happens, even today. Some guests take it as the close of the week.

The final Wellness Advisor session is before checkout. This is where the take-home plan gets written up: the meal plan, the gut and digestion protocols, the morning practices that fit your home cadence, the supplements and any continuing referrals. The plan deliberately stays narrow. One or two practices is what works, not seven days copy-pasted.

Lunch is the closing meal. Checkout follows. The transfer follows the airport you noted on Day 1: Al Wajh, NEOM Bay, or Red Sea International.

You leave with the load measured and a lighter set of habits drawn out. The next phase begins on the table at home.

BEYOND THE SEVEN-NIGHT CANONICAL TIER

How the rhythm flexes across stay lengths

Four-night Explore stays compress what's above. The Specialist Nutritional Consultation, the early studio rotation, and the eleven o'clock Stretch all stay in. Detoxifying Balneotherapy stays in. Pinda Sweda, Udvarthanam, and the cooking class drop out at this tier. Explore is calibration. The deeper clearance work starts at ten nights.

Ten-night Immerse stays bring Pinda Sweda, Udvarthanam, and a second Far Infrared Therapy session into the cleansing rhythm. The Healthy Cooking session runs in the second week. Holistic detox work extends to eleven across the stay.

Fourteen-night Commit stays open the deeper clearance work in earnest. Two Detoxifying Balneotherapy sessions over the fortnight. The fifteen Holistic Treatments span the stay; the assessment-driven addition of Therapeutic Lymphatic Drainage and Far Infrared Therapy lands in the second week. The closing conversation reads the work back across fourteen days, which lands differently than reading it across seven.

Across all four tiers, two things stay constant: the eleven o'clock Stretch, and your Wellness Advisor. The afternoon detox block adapts to what the body is asking for that day.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Jayasom AMAALA's As a Feather retreat sits on the Red Sea coast within the Triple Bay master plan, integrating Traditional Arabic Medicine with contemporary clinical science. It runs four to fourteen nights and is shaped at arrival by a Wellness Advisor, anchored on Pure Lightness, the Jayasom methodology for detox and weight balance.

The cleansing rhythm is calibrated to your starting point. Sedentary-adjacent guests begin with lighter modalities such as Pranayama, Tai Chi, dry skin brushing, and Far Infrared Therapy, before deeper detox practices are introduced. The structure is light enough to follow you; nothing is added because of the calendar.

The kitchen reaches first for the Farm Belt and leans on nutrient-dense, whole-food meals, with calorie-controlled options where the assessment indicates them. Anti-inflammatory ingredients and digestive-supportive cooking methods anchor the plan.

The retreat is shaped around the assessment and the questionnaire completed before arrival. For guests with chronic conditions, your Wellness Advisor calibrates the programme accordingly and may align the stay with a Visiting Practitioner whose specialism fits the condition. Where the assessment indicates that medical supervision beyond Jayasom's clinical scope is needed, this is flagged at the pre-arrival conversation.

The retreat is shaped for individuals seeking thorough health improvement through weight management and cleansing. Mostly sedentary jobs looking to change inadequate habits, and those who seek advice on nutrition and weight to revitalise their metabolism. The Wellness Advisor sets the programme around the guest's stated direction at the pre-arrival conversation.

The Pure Lightness methodology pairs an anti-inflammatory nourishment approach with a structured cleansing rhythm and a sedentary-friendly daily pacing. Where the body asks for less than the calendar offers, the day eases back to meet it. Pacing is part of the practice, not the obstacle.

Stays run from four to fourteen nights. Four tiers hold the structure: four nights to Explore, seven nights to Absorb, ten nights to Immerse, fourteen nights to Commit. The cleansing rhythm matches the tier; nothing across the stay is added because of the calendar.
