Body work
Spa, physiotherapy, fitness, corrective movement.
Preparing your experience
The sixty published here are the ones that earn their place. Three things qualify them. The Wellness Advisors prescribe them most often. The practitioners are accredited to deliver them. And the rituals hold up across a week of daily use.
Sixty treatments are published on the website, drawn from a wider operational catalogue of more than two hundred. The published cohort is the working set for retreat guests; the wider catalogue surfaces through the Wellness Advisor where it fits a programme.
Treatments fall across four categories: massage and bodywork, Ayurvedic protocols, Traditional Arabic and Islamic Medicine, and contemporary clinical care. Each draws on a Therapeutic Pillar and is anchored by a named practitioner.
Each treatment page carries a duration, a practitioner anchor, the Therapeutic Pillar it belongs to, and a contraindication note where relevant. Booking sits with your Wellness Advisor rather than direct-self-service.
Body work covers spa, physiotherapy, fitness, and corrective movement. Health work draws on Ayurveda, Traditional Arabic and Islamic Medicine, hydrotherapy, and energy practice. Aesthetic work runs across facials, brand-partner systems, and longevity-led skin care.

Body Work
50/90 min
The property's anchor bodywork session. Bamboo and walnut exfoliation followed by a signature combination of Lomilomi, Shiatsu, and Thai oil massage. The sequence is designed for deep relaxation - particularly effective before or after travel.
Health Work · Ayurveda
50/90 min
Warm medicated oil poured in a continuous stream over the third eye. One of Ayurveda's oldest practices for dissolving mental blockages - used for stress, insomnia, and migraines. Includes a scalp massage.
Health Work · Ayurveda
50 min
A focused energy treatment targeting the body's 107 Marma points - the junctions in Ayurvedic medicine where matter and consciousness meet. Gentle pressure and essential oils clear pranic blockages and restore the natural flow of energy through the nervous system.
Health Work · Ayurveda
90 min
Warm linen boluses filled with medicinal herbs and rice, dipped in heated oil and applied across the body. Exceptionally effective for joint stiffness, muscle pain, and inflammation - one of the more physically targeted treatments in the Ayurvedic menu.
Hydrotherapy
50 min
Aquatic bodywork performed in warm water - fluid movement, light stretching, and supported floating. A form of release that land-based treatments rarely reach. Available in both the adult and family pools.
Energy and Sound
50 min
Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, and toned voice in a quiet room.
Hydrotherapy
50 min
Warm, mineral-rich water that supports the body completely - no pressure points, no sound, no demand on the nervous system. Used for stress recovery, mental clarity, and the kind of rest that is difficult to achieve any other way.
Energy Work
50/90 min
Heated jade crystal used alongside Arabic-inspired essential oils in long, soothing strokes. The warmth of the crystal works on the muscles; the oils work on the nervous system - each deepening the effect of the other.
Body Work · Couples Ritual
120 min
A 2-hour journey for couples. It begins with a Grounding Ritual to release external stress, followed by a shared BIOME Facial. Two practitioners, working in parallel - a pause designed around presence rather than performance.
TAIM · Ritual
50/90 min
Rooted in the Arabic concept of generosity and gratitude, this ritual uses breath, touch, and movement to connect parents and children through shared sensory experience. Named for Ulfa - the Arabic word for gentle familiarity between people.
Mindfulness · Nervous-System Work
90/120 min
Designed to move the body out of stress response and into deep rest. Targets the Vagus Nerve through rhythmic massage and specific essential oils - a clinical approach to the kind of reset most treatments only approximate.
TAIM · Cupping
50 min
Dry and wet cupping therapy - an ancient healing tradition that applies suction to the body to stimulate a localised healing response, improve circulation, and support the removal of toxins. Rooted in Arabic and Islamic medicine.
Aesthetic · Brand Partner
60 min
The Hydrafacial Platinum - the full system. Deep cleanse, extraction, hydration with personalised serums, plus a detoxifying lymphatic drainage session to contour and reduce puffiness. The benchmark facial on the menu.
Hydrotherapy
60 min
A re-creation of ancient balneotherapy - essential oils combined with underwater jets to stimulate circulation, boost lymphatic flow, and improve muscle tone. One of the shorter sessions in the programme, but cumulative across a week.
Energy Practice
A hands-on or near-body energy treatment combining Japanese Reiki with T'aqa - the Arabic concept for vital life force. Focuses on the seven energy points of the body, restoring clarity of mind and calming the emotions.
From the Ayurvedic tradition - warm medicated herbal oil applied in gentle flowing strokes to release toxins, stimulate circulation, and relieve tension. Followed by 10 minutes in a personal steam cubicle.
50 min
Warm Himalayan salt crystal stones applied to relax muscles, soothe tension, and promote well-being. The mineral content of the stones works alongside the heat - a slower, more grounded session than a standard massage.
50 min
An all-body workout using the springs and pulleys of the Pilates Reformer bed - strength, balance, and flexibility in a single session. Works well alongside physiotherapy and corrective exercise programmes.
50 min
Traditional yoga poses and stretches performed with a hammock - full-body movement, joint and muscle strengthening, and spinal decompression as the body hangs freely. The hammock takes weight off and opens movement that floor practice cannot reach.
50 min
A low-impact class in the pool using a noodle - gently raises heart rate, builds muscle strength and flexibility, and reduces joint load. One of the most accessible sessions on the programme for guests recovering from injury or with mobility considerations.
50 min
A pulley-based system delivering 360° movement - stretching and strengthening the spine and limbs simultaneously while improving flexibility and mobility. Often used alongside physiotherapy programmes for spinal conditions.
50 min
Begins with a full assessment of musculoskeletal imbalances, then moves into guided exercises to relieve pain and restore movement. Appropriate for guests with postural issues, chronic pain, or recovering from surgery.
60–150 min
Controlled cooling to target and gradually reduce stubborn fat pockets. Available for chin, arms, flanks, inner thigh, abdomen, and outer thigh - or as a multi-zone session. A treatment that does its work after you leave, not during the session.
60 min
The Margaret Dabbs® London Supreme Pedicure - performed on dry skin, to medical standards of hygiene, using sterilised single-use tools. Hard skin removal, foot bath, exfoliation, and an intensive foot massage. The standard of care is clinical; the experience is not.
25 min
An add-on to any manicure. Silicone mitts deliver light therapy to the hands - reducing pigmentation, fine lines, and irritation, and restoring a plump, radiant appearance. Worth adding if the hands are part of what you are here to address.
30 min
Children choose their own essential oil blend from a selection including eucalyptus and lavender, then receive a full-body massage. A gentle, sensory introduction to therapeutic touch.
45 min
A complete ritual using chocolate-derived ingredients from scrub through to drink. Named the cocoa seed of life - playful, indulgent, and a session that most children remember specifically.
30 min
A deep-cleansing facial using jasmine, ylang-ylang, and argiletz clay. Designed to give children the same quality of experience as the adult facial menu - adapted in application and product, not in intent.
50 min
A VR-based training system designed for physical therapy and core rehabilitation. Used for coordination, balance, and strength building - accessible to guests with physical limitations as well as those seeking performance-level conditioning.
50 min
A series of four advanced facials targeting the skin's microbiome - restoring the natural barrier, improving resilience, and promoting a healthy flora. Recommended as a course rather than a single session.
75–105 min
Non-invasive tightening using high-intensity focused ultrasound - supports collagen renewal for improved firmness, lift, and skin texture. Available for full face, face and neck, jawline, eye and brow area, and body zones.
30 min
Conducted by the parent and guided by the therapist — warm organic oil used to support digestion, sleep regulation, and nervous system calming. The therapist teaches; the parent delivers. A session about connection as much as treatment.
50 min
The KOS Paris hammam sequence: black soap, exfoliation, and warm oil - a head-to-toe ritual drawn from ancient hammam tradition, enriched with KOS Paris botanicals.
50 min
A patented sling-based physiotherapy system that re-educates pain-free movement patterns. Used for both acute and chronic conditions - restores muscle function and mobility without putting load through injured tissue.
50 min
A collagen-supporting facial designed to lift and tighten - addresses laxity without injectable intervention. Part of the ME age-defying range, which also covers brightening, anti-wrinkle, and volume restoration.
50 min
Electromagnetic muscle stimulation targeting core, glutes, arms, or thighs - equivalent to thousands of muscle contractions in a single session. Used for toning, strengthening, and definition without physical load on the joints.

Fifteen treatments hold the published cohort across the website. The full Treatment Directory carries the wider operational set across the property; the Wellness Advisor reads where each belongs.
Jayasom AMAALA's Treatment Directory carries one hundred and fifty treatments across the Therapeutic Pillars of body, mind and spirit. Some anchor a single retreat; many thread across multiple retreat shapes. The Wellness Advisor places each against the brief at arrival, reading the body's starting point and the goals the stay is asking for.
Treatments cluster across categories: Wellness Assessments and clinical baselines; Sound and energetic therapies; Bodywork and manual practice; Hydrotherapy and water-borne work; Ayurvedic protocols; Traditional Arabic and Islamic Medicine; Beauty and skin care; and Recovery and active rehabilitation.
Anchor treatments differ by retreat. The Couple's Connect Spa Ritual sits within As a Pair; QALBAIN, separately, sits as a couples treatment alongside it. Watsu, Marma Point, and Pinda Sweda thread across multiple retreat shapes. The daily 60-minute treatment from the seven-treatment menu (Jayasom Signature Massage, Balinese, Deep Tissue, Classical Swedish, Chakra Balancing, Foot Reflexology, Abhyanga) runs across every retreat.
Every retreat opens with a one-to-one Health Consultation, plus a Specialist Consultation calibrated to the retreat shape. Physical and Postural Assessment plus VISIA Facial Imaging are complimentary on request. The Wellness Mentoring sessions thread across longer stays for guests carrying a longer-arc question.
Traditional Arabic and Islamic Medicine
Traditional Arabic and Islamic Medicine sits across many Jayasom treatments. Hijama, the regional cupping practice, runs as one of the published cohort. The Halalopathy framework threads across the practitioner roster, the kitchen, and the daily clinical practice; Phase 2 of Jayasom's growth opens a dedicated Harmony of Halal retreat that brings the framework into the foreground.
Treatments aren't booked from a menu. A Wellness Advisor speaks with you before arrival, reviews any clinical context you choose to share, and shapes a plan that runs across your stay. The selection shifts as the week progresses; the plan stays yours.
A handful of treatments only run when a specialist is in residence. Visiting Practitioners arrive for set windows of weeks at a time, and their treatments show on the calendar only during those weeks.
Accredited systems
Selected treatments use accredited brand-partner systems. Hydrafacial, Margaret Dabbs® London, Neurac®, Gyrotonic®, Gyrokinesis®, OPIALA, Cristal Fit, Cristal Pro, AstraeaNatura™, KOS Paris, and HeartMath are listed where their methods are used.
Where
Treatments are delivered at the Jayasom Wellness Resort at AMAALA on the Red Sea, one hour by car from Al Wajh airport (EJH). The Health and Wellness Centre houses spa, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, and consultation rooms.
