Featured Family Experiences
Eight experiences, drawn from the Treatment Directory and the family operations roster, anchor the page.
Ūlfa Ritual
Treatment Directory canonical:
"Rooted in generosity and gratitude, this experience invites parents and children to connect through approachable sensory experiences. Using breath, touch, and movement, it mirrors the grounding rhythms of nature to foster deep familial bonds."
Sacred Bond Infant Massage
A 30-minute infant massage practice for children aged one to three, conducted by a parent under therapist guidance. Warm organic oil; gentle work that supports digestion and sleep regulation while the nervous system settles.
Family Wellness Counselling
A 50-minute family session for up to eight participants, including parents, children, adolescents, and grandparents. The methodology draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy alongside Neuro-Linguistic Programming and HeartMath, applied conversationally
Children's Hands-On Therapy + Sensory Play
A 50-minute session combining hands-on therapy with sensory play to support emotional regulation and focus. The work moves through structured play.
Family Hydrothermal Experience
A circuit through seven stages designed for parents and children to take together at the family's pace: infrared sauna for heat activation, waterfall bathing, Kneipp walking, vitality pools at varying temperatures and mineral compositions, steam, Rasul rituals, and a flotation pool. The Family Hydrothermal sits in a separate space from the adult Hydrothermal at Jayana. A Family Wellness Private Scrub Room runs alongside, with parent-child scrubs prepared from sustainable, locally inspired ingredients.
Family Watsu
Warm-water aquatic bodywork in a dedicated Family Watsu pool. Sessions are age-tailored: gentler work for very young children, deeper bodywork for older children and adults.
Cooking with Children at Nakeha Studio
Hands-on cooking sessions at Nakeha Studio for up to eight family members. Children cook alongside parents under chef guidance; the menu draws on Farm Belt produce hand-picked the same morning. Each session includes a personalised recipe card and a chef-signed certificate to take home. Stays of seven nights and longer carry one Nakeha class as part of the package.
Children's Spa Menu

The approach
How the family programme works
A family-attachment retreat with concurrent programmes for parents and young people, designed to nurture the relationships that matter most. Time held to fortify further as a family, in love, trust, and mutual respect. Each member is guided to recognise unique strengths, fostering improved communication, teamwork, and accountability.
The work moves through enriching group and individual experiences in a fun and relaxed environment. The programme blends Family Wellness mentoring with mind-body practices, fitness training, and physiotherapy, alongside shared activities including nature experiences, cooking classes, Spa and holistic rituals, and play-based fitness for children.
A Wellness Advisor holds the day-to-day for the family across ages: shaping the parents' track, guiding the children's daily activities by age band, and threading shared family time through each day at the universal late-afternoon slot. Multi-generational programming is one of the property's core categories rather than a side option, with wellness journeys tailored to move with the family across generations and cultures.
The methodology integrates Traditional Arabic medicine with contemporary clinical science. Children's programmes are wellness-based, educational, and recreational; some sessions incorporate psychology-informed approaches (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, HeartMath) to support emotional, social, and personal skill development. The work does not constitute medical, psychological, psychiatric, or therapeutic treatment, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any condition. Tech-Integrated Wellness sits within the children's programme as a conscious tool: virtual reality treadmills in the teen lounge, ICAROS interactive fitness, MultiBall projected sport, and structured digital experiences run alongside hands-on play.
The retreat is calibrated for families seeking calm, considered family time. The programme is purposeful rather than loud, designed to hold space for elders, parents, and children of every age band without overstimulation or generic family-resort patterns

Signature ritual
Ūlfa Ritual
Ūlfa Ritual is the hero family bonding ritual at Jayasom AMAALA, offered in 50-minute and 90-minute formats. It sits within the Spa under the Ground Wellbeing collection, designed to empower the family to function as a cohesive, thriving unit that recognises each other's strengths and differences.

The setting
The Setting at AMAALA
Jayasom AMAALA stands on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast, part of the Triple Bay master plan developed by Red Sea Global. The property is set low against the coastline, with cross-ventilation as the first cooling layer and locally sourced materials throughout.
For As a Family guests, the relevant zone is Jayela, the family side of the property, with shared programmes and family Mediterranean dining. Several venues thread the family experience together, with cross-zone access extending the experience into the gardens and the wellness plateau beyond Jayela alone.
THREE BUTTERCUP PLAY SPACES
Buttercup Playground · Pool Play · Sand Play
Three play spaces carry the Buttercup name. Buttercup Playground sits near the retail village, partially shaded, with wood materials and a sandy floor; climbing features and slides run for the middle ages, balance hammocks reach the older children. Buttercup Pool Play is next to the children's pool, in the shade of the Jayela Terraces; the walls carry bouldering grips and the rubberised floor features partial domes for running and rolling. Buttercup Sand Play sits towards the cove coastline, with shaded climbing structures, a slide, tunnels, and a pathway to the beach front for strollers and mobility equipment.
FAMILY POOLS, BEACH HUT, AND OUTDOOR
From the pool deck to the cove
The Jayela Family Pools sit on the ground floor of the Jayela Terraces. Two pools, one deeper and one shallow at zero to forty centimetres for young children. Sofa seating and changing rooms are at hand, with toilets under the shade of the building.
The Beach Hut launches non-motorised watersports: stand-up paddleboards, snorkelling, swim lessons, and water-borne yoga. Rinsing showers are available. Beyond the Beach Hut, the Red Sea cove opens onto kayaking, scuba diving, kitesurfing, and boat excursions. The Corallium offers an immersive learning experience focused on the Red Sea's coral reefs and marine life. Day trips into the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Royal Reserve add geological history and cultural exploration; conservation and marine biological tours run alongside.
ACTIVE COURTS AND FAMILY HYDROTHERMAL
The Jayela Health & Wellness Centre
The Jayela Health & Wellness Centre houses the Active Courts, lit at night for extended hours. Trampolines run at ground level for individual use; a bouldering wall sits on a rubberised landing surface; Fuwa Domes hold inflated structures for climbing and sliding; a covered Multi-use Games Court (MUGA) carries volleyball, badminton, and other family or community sports.
A Family Hydrothermal experience moves through seven stages at the family's pace: infrared sauna for heat activation, waterfall bathing, Kneipp walking, vitality pools at varying temperatures and mineral compositions, steam, Rasul rituals, and a flotation pool.
FAMILY ROOMS
Calibrated for size and cohesion
Family rooms are calibrated for size and cohesion. Single and multi-bedroom pool villas sit alongside the Terrace rooms, conveniently located near the family pools and offering stunning seaside views. The largest family accommodation, the 5-bedroom Jayela Residence, comes complete with its own private wellness studio. Selected accessible rooms within the Jayela Terraces remove steps and add electrically assisted beds, vibrating and lighted fire alarms, emergency call systems, easy-access shower and toilets, and grab rails.
A botanical pattern
Botanical etymology pattern continues here. Buttercup, named for play and healing ingredients, takes its place alongside Poa, Phoenix, Stonecrop, and Yasmeen as part of a single botanical pattern across the property.
CHILDREN'S PROGRAMME BY AGE
Four Growing Studios
The children's programme runs through four age-banded studios at the Jayana Health & Wellness Centre, named after botanical stages. Each studio carries an indoor and outdoor element, with facilities calibrated to the developmental stage of the band.
Seed Studio
"The most promising, all is new and all is yet to come, it is the time for planting."
The studio carries a nap room, a breastfeeding nook, diaper changing facilities, and a small-scale toilet, alongside a creative play table and chairs, a ball pool, and a pantry. Outdoors, a shaded zone holds a kinetic sand pit, with a small balancing bridge and tactile studs underfoot.
Sprout Studio
"Striving for independence and autonomy, but curious with a love for exploring."
A multi-height space with 'look-down' mezzanine ceilings, books and crafts, dress-ups, imagination play, and bean bags for chilling. Outdoors, bouncing structures within a shaded and secure compound.
Stem Lounge
"The years of sudden growth and the beginning of a transition into adolescence; a space for standing tall."
The lounge offers central spaces alongside pods for music, gaming, hiding out, and hanging out. Outdoors, hammocks.
Bloom Lounge
"The transition to adulthood, hormonal changes and life transitions; it is the stage of flourishing."
The hero experience is virtual reality treadmills for self-directed multiplayer use, paired with a lounge and snack bar for non-players. Outdoors, shaded hammocks and seating.

ADULT-CHILD DUALITY

Programme inclusions
What every retreat carries
Every retreat tier carries a baseline of inclusions across stays. Three healthy cuisine meals per night come through Loumi Rue and the family-side venues, with children's menus designed for the family-dining concept. The Family Hydrothermal sits within reach as a separate experience from the adult Jayana circuit, including the seven-stage circuit and the Family Wellness Private Scrub Room.
Daily programming runs concurrently for parents and children. The Adults rotation holds yoga, Mat Pilates, breath-led practice, and aqua sessions for adult-track guests on top of the family hour. The children's day moves through five 40-minute slots calibrated by the four Growing Studios. Both tracks meet at the universal family hour each afternoon, four to five, every day of the stay.
One cooking class at Nakeha Studio comes with every stay from the four-night Explore tier upwards. A daily Choice of Spa, also from the Explore tier, pairs a sixty-minute adult treatment with a thirty-minute child treatment for guests under twelve.
Per-tier Family treatment counts are set out above in the stay structure: eleven at Explore, eighteen at Absorb, twenty-four at Immerse, thirty-four at Commit.
ACTIVITIES BY DAY
A five-slot rhythm across a seven-day rotation
The children's day runs to a five-slot rhythm across a seven-day rotation. Each slot holds a single activity, calibrated to the age band, 40 minutes long.
Mixed across age bands.
Mixed across age bands.
Mixed across age bands.
Mindful Balance Relay, We Are Connected, Stories from Home, Circle of Trust, Family Rhythm Ritual, Guess Who, and Family Mini Olympics rotate across the seven days.
Holding the teen tier most days, with a Saturday infant Sensory Hand & Arm Painting window for the youngest band.
SKILL DEVELOPMENT
Activities across the rotation are tagged across thirty Skill Development categories, including emotional development, sensory awareness, cognitive skills, fine and gross motor skills, language development, family connection, problem solving, and environmental awareness. Children rotate through the bands and through the categories across a seven-night stay, longer where the tier permits. Universal duration for every children's activity: 40 minutes. Five daily slots return roughly three hours and twenty minutes of structured time per child per day, with the family hour cross-counted.

RECOMMENDED ADD-ONS

Wellness Mentors
Hold the family-side guidance role. Backgrounds in Clinical Psychology paired with NLP and HeartMath certification support emotional and social work alongside relational resets for families.
Child Development Facilitators
Wellness Kids certified. They lead structured group activities and development programmes, sessions include safeguarding training.
Fitness, holistic, culinary, and outdoor specialists hold their respective tracks across the property.
Visiting Practitioners arrive in residence through the year, in categories shaped to family contexts.
Residences pathway
For longer stays and multi-suite bookings
For families considering longer stays or multi-suite bookings, Jayasom Wellness Residences offer a residential extension of the retreat. The 24-villa community sits across ten two-bedroom, twelve three-bedroom, and two four-bedroom villas, alongside the 5-bedroom Jayela Residence with its private wellness studio for the largest family stays.
Residence owners receive the Longevity Assessment Programme annually across seven components, alongside private wellness programming that runs year-round. For multigenerational families and intergenerational bookings, the Residences pathway opens longer rhythms than a four-to-fourteen-night retreat allows.
For non-residents
Family Wellness Daily Bundles
For families staying outside the resort, two daily bundles bring Jayasom programming on a single-day basis.
Family Half-Day Bundle
Three hours
A family consultation, a spa session, a group activity, a Wellness Mentor bonding session, and a wellness meal.
Family Full-Day Bundle
SIX HOURS
A family consultation, group activities, personal training, spa rituals, Wellness Mentoring, ICAROS or MultiBall sessions, the Hydrothermal circuit, and a wellness meal.
DAY BY DAY
A typical seven-night family stay
Seven days of concurrent tracks for adults and children, threaded by the universal family hour each afternoon. Tier count: 11 named treatments at four nights, 18 at seven, 24 at ten, 34 at fourteen.
BEYOND THE SEVEN-NIGHT CANONICAL TIER
How the rhythm flexes
Four-night Explore compresses the family rhythm; ten and fourteen-night Immerse and Commit expand the calendar. The three Family-recommended add-ons (Free We Learn, Rehear The Heartbeats, Restore & Preserve) layer in across longer stays. The Wellness Advisor walks the brief through with you in the pre-arrival call; the Wellness Residence pathway opens for families writing longer cycles than the wellness destination tiers hold.
Jayasom AMAALA's As a Family retreat sits within the Triple Bay master plan on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast. Three to fourteen nights, with concurrent tracks for adults and children across age-banded studios, shared family hours each afternoon, and family-tailored treatments, bodywork, and dining. The Wellness Advisor holds the programme from the pre-arrival conversation through to closing. Alone, as a two, as a five: As a Family is one of six retreat shapes for the work each guest comes to do.
It feels like communication, joy and united trust.
